Jozet-

I'll have to Yopopu tube that song. It doesn't ring a bell.

EyeDoc-

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to listen to it. Their live stuff sounds so much different don't you think? Not that it isn't good but I often fall in love with the way they say one word and then to hear it again- different and I'm left feeling a little empty.

Kccinova-

Recently I heard Poison's Every Rose has a Thorn and was catapulted back as well!!

White Hot-

My husband's a big Metallica fan. I never got into it. I do like Pink Floyd however!

Audrey-

The smell is still there. My husband washed his car and mine is still waiting. Waiting. *finger's tapping* Waiting.

Cassaundra-

Oh! I'm off to go check out Facebook right now!! Been caught up with the kids recently! I do however have a good friend that i have lost touch with- she's a hairstylist and I haven't been able to find her for years!! See you in a minute....

Hi
These wonderful days of messy kid-mobiles....Yes, I have a mom-van. It's really fun! when the temperature in central Texas tops 100 degrees! My kids will tell me I need to wash my van or clean it out inside and I just smile and tell them it is their mess so when they are ready to clean it......
My van is also my life line for my work....Mobile hairsylist and now massage therapist!
When I hear an old song that brings back happy memories of days long ago, I sometimes crank up the volume, and if/when the kids are in the car at that time, they duck in their seats if anyone is in a car near us! They think their mom lost it!
I am curious if we might know more people that would connect us. I grew up in San Diego(Bonita) and then lived 1 year in the D.C. area then returned to CA and lived the next 10 years between Atascadero and Simi Valley.....I have mostly lived in Oxnard and Camarillo and Simi Valley and worked in a Salon in Camarillo from '85-'95. I have tried to connect with you on Facebook but you have not responded so far.
How's Jake doing these days. I am praying he gets well soon and you can figure out what is causing his woes.

Oh my gosh I loved your post. I happen to live up in Santa Barbara and we love it here.

I laughed so hard over the smell in the car. It happens to us all of the time and sure enough it does go away eventually...just as it came to us one day, it leaves one day. I do admit to wondering what might have died back there....ahh but I'll worry about that some other day LOL.

My favorite band back in the day was Metallica. They are still my favorite band of all time, although their newer work is not my favorite.

Ah, I hadn't heard Counting Crows in a long time! That is a nice song - very mellow. Thanks for sharing it. :)
I'm an old rocker, and while I listen more to contemporary/alternative Christian rock these days (Kutless being one of my favorite bands), the CD playing in my minivan yesterday was Def Leppard's Pyromania. I saw them in concert when they toured after that album came out; I was 17 and living in Seattle. When I crank up the volume for "Rock of Ages," I am transported back to the summer of 1983. (Then, I would have left the music blaring at a stoplight....now, I turn it down in deference to the other drivers.)
This is a good idea! I might need to write a music post someday.

I know the feeling! Entered med school in 1996 and their first alb especially brings me back! If you haven't tries it I would recommend their live album as it has some really funky re-do's of their most famous songs.

Ahhhh! The song that takes me back to those "before" days is "Save It For Later" by The English Beat. So much girlhood wrapped up in that song.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your children are GORGEOUS.

And you're a pediatrician, eh? Never tell that to a hypochondriac like myself. I'll never leave you alone. ;-)
