Questions from a Five Year Old

Posted by on Friday, June 27th, 2008

My Little Princess Butterfly

Can I have my daddy’s blankie?
Can I have some cookies?
Can I have something to eat?
Can I have dessert?
Can I wear my Ariel costume to school?
Can I go to Alyssa’s house?
Can I watch Hannah Montana?
Can I have some lip gloss?
Can I wear your necklace?
Is f*** a bad word?
Are those the pills you take so you don’t have a baby?
What year is it?
What month is it?
Is today a weekend?
Do you have to go to work today?
When are we going home?
What happens when we die?
Does the world ever end?

    Hi Dr. Cason,

    What a precious photo.

Kids do ask a lot of questions, don’t they? They keep us on our toes.

And then they repeat those questions ten more times. In one hour. :)

    Dr. Cason,

This is simply beautiful. Kids are amazing. Their creative brains are astonishing. These questions prove their creativity. I love your blog. I’ve subscribed. I’ll be back again!

I’m right there with ya, sister. My 4 yr old has a question for every breath. I guess having an inquisitive child is a good thing, I’m hoping that means she will be one who continually strives for knowledge.

Hi Barbara, Lisa, Guinevere, Shilpan and Ambre,

What really got me was that most of the time she is a typical 5 year old. She wants to eat and watch TV but then in the middle of it all out will pop- Does the world ever end?

Poor baby. I remember being scared like that. Heck, it still makes me wonder.

Children are such blessings, and they have a thirst for knowledge. Keep feeding her, but most importantly listen. We can learn from our children.
