The Best Thing you can do for your Marriage

Dr. Cason on Jun 20th 2008

After 8 years of marriage my husband and I did the unthinkable. The unimaginable. We took a week off. Together. At the same time. And put the kids in their regularly scheduled programs.
We learned to dive.
We held hands and shared air and a kiss under water.
We went to breakfast. Twice.
We saw a movie.
We drove. In [...]

Dr. Cason on Jun 19th 2008

Here’s John and Nemo! He’s looking so serene meanwhile here’s me…

Ouch! A little aggressive guy just took a nip of my finger! People like to go to Gab Gab beach here and feed the fish hot dogs. Sorry Buddy- not a hot dog just my finger!

Here John got my attention and was trying to tell [...]

Dr. Claudius Conrad and Music in Medicine

Dr. Cason on Jun 14th 2008

This is a continuation from yesterday’s post: The Healing Powers of Music
If you didn’t read it go back and listen to Mitsuko Uchida playing Mozart. Or even if you have, go back and listen to her again. She’s amazing.
Anyway the fascinating story that followed the melodious music was about Dr. Claudius Conrad, a 30 year [...]

The Healing Powers of Music

Dr. Cason on Jun 13th 2008

Yesterday, as I was driving in my car I turned on the radio. I had just come off a busy clinic and needed to calm down. All morning long I moved fast, seeing this wheezing patient first- to get the neb treatment going and then jumping to the next room to exam the newborn [...]

Our cheapest babysitter may be our most expensive. It’s funny now that I’m researching TV and children, I certainly have been more aware of its use in my [...]

Should You Let Your Child Watch Television?

Dr. Cason on Jun 11th 2008

Here is a question I received at MommyMD: A Guide to Realistic Parenting last year. This morning I was reminded of it as my two year old is fascinated by Sesame Street. I let him watch because as you’ll see below. If your children are over two years of age, the American Academy of Pediatrics [...]
