Cath- Yes I was a little nervous when they sent that little collection of sweat off to the lab.

Sunil- Thanks for the subscription! I'll have to check out your site. It looks like you have some really good stuff!

Hi Dr Cason - The poor little guy is probably sick of the sight of hospitals. At least you've ruled out Cystic Fibrosis, which must have been a relief. I hope you get to the root of the problem soon.

AxeCity- Cystic Fibrosis is a disorder of the Sodium Chloride channels therefore one could collect sweat and analyze the Sodium and Chloride in the sample and rule in or out Cystic fibrosis. This link does a good job explaining it. http://www.labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/sweat_chloride/glance.html

Queen- Little by little we are getting there!

Guinevere- Thanks for the compliment. It's fun to see what you can get!

Lance- Thanks. We just got back. He's a little wiped out.

Davina- Thanks for the encouragement!

Linda- Thanks for the story of your son. I'm scared to use the epi pen but I carry it around everywhere! What happened? Was something mixed in that he didn't know or did he just try something out? I know sometimes teenagers do some risky behavior.

Dear Dr. Cason,

Just caught up with your journey. Thanks for sharing your photos with us. Modern medicine is truly incredible!

I feel for you. We found out my son had food allergies at 18 months. He's outgrown all but the peanut products, which was so far off the scale that the MD told us he'd never outgrow it. He is now 18-1/2 yo and we've only had to use an EpiPen twice in all of these years, thank God!

Please try to relax and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii on your day off. I think it is one of the prettiest places on the planet.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

The last photo is amazing!

The photos taken at the medical center were so interesting and illustrative too, I didn't know that sweat can be diagnosed, what results does the sample should show?
