Operation Re-entry and a Last Little Bit of O’ahu

Posted by Dr. Cason on Monday, July 28th, 2008

Good Morning- Shhh… it’s 5:25am  here on a Monday morning in Guam and the day is about to start. The coffee is done but it’s waiting for me to pour that cup. It’s not a Cafe Mocha but it’ll do. :)

I’m sinking back into my routine. I’ve been calling it Operation Re-entry”. I was right, once home Jake was infinitely easier to handle when he had his two sisters to play with. Nothing like lots of owies, a hotel room and sporadic naps to stir things up for a two year old. The girls can’t stop hugging him. But then neither can I.

The labs to his previous immunizations came back normal. We’ll see how his immunoglobulins recover in the next 6 months. In the meantime I’m going to be cooking more and watching over his health. I fantasize  that old fashioned home cooking, lots of good sleep, exercise, prayers and the love of his family is what he needs.

Here’s some pics from the last day in O’ahu Think

This was written on a guardrail right next to a cliff side scenic spot. You had to step over it to get closer to the view, which most everyone did!

Risk Taker

Clearly not everyone heeds the warnings.

Rescue

This rescue board was stationed on just the other side of the warning flags. We speculated that if it were needed everyone would be in trouble. The waves were that strong!

Funny how people ignore the warnings that are right there in front of them! I like the theme of this photo layout- “think” “rescue” “no swimming!”

Good to hear that things are settling down for you.
I was really happy to read that Jakes titres came back ok.

Diet made a big dent in some of our troubles with Ivy. I hope that your fantasies become reality.

    Hi Dr. Cason,

I imagine that cup of coffee tastes many time better than Starbucks now that you’re home and surrounded by your loved ones.

Guin- I think the water was too tempting. It was so beautiful.

tiff- Yes we are very happy! I keep watching him though. Ever so closely just out of the corner of my eye.

    Barbara- Delicious!

It is so hard to worry about your baby. I think the very best pediatricians know what that is like firsthand.

    Donna- Thanks *hugs*

Kyla- I certainly have a lot of sympathy those parent’s who throw up their hands in frustration and say, ” No more poking and I don’t care how important you say it is!”

    White Hot- Me too!

Audubon- Uh…Huh??? Man now I have to Google it!

Audubon- I googled it! Wikipedia said, “According to the article Going Native on Oahu by Steve Barth, “[da kine] can mean virtually anything, the salad dressing, a phone number, your uncle Lewellyn. It doesn’t strictly even have to be a thing. It doesn’t matter how obscure the reference either.”

    :)
