I Just Wanted to Say Thank You
Dr. Cason on Jul 20th 2008
Today was a good day. At least it ended well which makes up for some of the tantrumming in the am. Bought a stroller and that has made all the difference. For me of course!
Made our way down to the beach again, grabbed some food and had ourselves a picnic. Jake ran around chasing the [...]
Unexpected Beauty
Dr. Cason on Jul 19th 2008
We have the weekend off to recuperate and rest before additional labs will be drawn.
I played with these photos today working with the black and white and texturizing them to make some of them look a little older. It reminded me that sometimes when we look at things in a different way they become beautiful [...]
Something’s Wrong
Dr. Cason on Jul 19th 2008
They found something on the scope- a swollen esophagus- may be eosinophilic esophagitis. Don’t ask I still have research to do.
Now this morning his immunodeficiency labs came back abnormal. We will go in for some repeat labs and a sit down talk.
Now I’m getting worried.
He’s running around eating pretzels and grapes and I can’t stop [...]
Sleepy Feet
Dr. Cason on Jul 18th 2008
Little sleepy feet.
Soon we head over for the bronchoscopy and endoscopy. I’ve been warned he’ll be confused coming out of anesthesia. We have a relaxing day planned following. Maybe a little pool. Maybe a little food at the local drive in.
Thank you all for the well wishes and prayers. I haven’t been able to visit [...]
A New Friend at Waikiki Beach
Dr. Cason on Jul 17th 2008
I think the highlight of today for Jakey came at the end.
We wandered down to Waikiki beach to watch the sunset.
He stood mesmerized by a little boy who very sweetly offered him a shovel and scooted over to make room in his sand spot.
They played side by side and I took photos. *sigh*
Then Jake rewarded [...]
A Little Sweat and Relaxation
Dr. Cason on Jul 16th 2008
Another busy day at Tripler Medical Center ruling out Cystic Fibrosis with a sweat test.
Here we are as the electrodes are attached to Jake’s arm to stimulate his sweat glands.
It worked.
Look how much was collected! It was packaged off to the lab for the results, while we went off and explored O’ahu.
Such delicate fluffy petals [...]
Sweating it Out
Dr. Cason on Jul 16th 2008
It’s still early here and Jakey is pretending to be asleep- crouched in the crumpled white bed covers sucking his thumb. He reminds me of Brianna. She loves to linger and wake up slowly too. Gabby? Out of bed immediately, bright eyed and bushy tailed. I miss the girls.
Off this am for a continental breakfast. [...]

We Made it to Hawaii
Dr. Cason on Jul 14th 2008
We made it. My poor little guy was tuckered though. He spent a lot of time looking out the window.
Only a little bit of time sleeping.
And the rest of the time crying. Over anything.
He nearly slept through dinner at a local drive in.
But somehow he sensed the toys amongst him and sprang to life.
He’s currently [...]
Can Someone Help with Me with the Bags?
Dr. Cason on Jul 14th 2008
It’s 4:06 am. The house is unusually quiet. Coffee’s not even on. No worries- I’ll grab it at the airport.
Time to go wake my youngest.
Can you grab the bags?
