Trish- For sure it's an acquired taste and texture.

Deanna- Thank you for commenting my sweet blogger friend. It's nice to see you around!

Hunter- This is true. We westerners use "Sushi" as a general term but you've mentioned the correct usage. :)

I love sushi! I have to do the wasabi in moderation, but I think sushi is great. I found it to be much better in Japan than at my local Japanese restaurant though.

Note that the raw fish we call sushi is called sashimi in Japan. They use the term sushi to refer to vinegared rice usually topped by something--raw fish being just one of the possibilities.

Hallelujah for wasabi!

Just wanted to mention that I've been quietly watching your struggle with Jakey's diagnosis. You've been in my prayers. Sorry I haven't commented; I've just been too caught up in my own drama to feel like connecting much. Hang in there!

Can't go there... just can't do it! My wife's brother is an awesome sushi chef and catered our wedding and was a hugehit.... but it's not for me. I don't like rice and texture is HUGE for me - so no sushi for me!

But someone should eat it.... that way my wife's brother will have a job!!

Kat- I've thought a little of it but it's one of the things I do that is purely for fun. I'm afraid I'll get all cranky about it. BUT now that you say something I might look into it. :) Thanks for the push.

Chris- MMMmm crab. Yum. Never much been into oysters though.

Oh, another thing Sheila, here is an example of a photographer my daughter-in-law knows who uses the site SmugMug. Twila and Selena have been close friends for many years. SmugMug allows you to make your photos available, and yet to copyright protect them so people cannot download or save them for free.

I'm a fish eater, especially sushi, actually the whole family does. There's a Japanese Buffett restaurant here in Chicago and man do they serve up some tasty sushis. They also serve crabs and fresh oyster, which is a big plus!

Sheila - I wanted to mention something to you while on my mind. I mentioned this to Moonbeam's Mom, but she forgot to mention to you.

Your photography is so incredible. I really believe you could make money off your photography through stock photo sites on the internet. In fact, you could even create your own internet business with a photo gallery to market your work. With your medical background, you might could market medical shots as well of surgeries, medical procedures, drugs for pharmaceutical companies, etc.

If you choose to go with another company, you could prepare a portfolio of your different types of work (food photography is always a big market) and submit to some of these on the internet. I personally use the Dreamstime stock photo site (http://www.dreamstime.com/login.php) for pictures on my website designs. This is a quite reasonable site, but there are many others that charge higher prices and royalty fees. I thought this might help you get your name out there with your incredible photography, while also providing extra income to help pay off your student loans.

I would certainly purchase your photography. It is of excellent quality. Knowing Photoshop, you could also offer modification of your photographs using Photoshop for your customers as well.

You definitely have a real asset with your knowledge of photography.

Kyla- I cannot ever remember eating fish sticks. And have never served them to the kids. BUT they totally dig chicken strips. Just something to dip into the Ketchup I'm afraid!

Back Deck- I used to only eat the Sushi. The Wasabi must be better out here. The best sushi I've ever had was at a local restaurant and it literally melted in your mouth. Mmmmm....

Elizabeth- No are they hot? Sushi that is made well is really good! You could always just get the California roll. It's really good!

Audubon- LOL! Amazing they brought their own sushi! Are you a good singer??

Nikki- But it won't smell! Really it's great! As I said to Elizabeth you could get the California roll. :)

White Hot- Come to Guam- I'll take you to a little place and we'll sit and have some Saki and try it all out!!

Cath- Have you tried Wasabi mashed potatoes. I had it in a restaurant not too long ago. Yum.

Dr Cason - I love the wasabi too. Lately I've been buying the paste and experimenting with different ways to make wasabi sauce.

It's great that a kid prefers sushi to McDonalds.
