Daily Offerings

Hi Everyone, if you’ve happened to my site recently you’ll have noticed it’s been a little broken. NOW…it’s finally getting close to what I want it to be! Thanks for your patience.

The Balinese place these beautiful little offerings to the Gods daily on the streets in front of the temple or up on little altars. They deteriorated quickly so it was nice to come upon one that was fresh.

Such beautiful colors. I would assume this is from their Hindu faith, even though my Indian friend was telling me there is more and more Moslem religion in Bali.

Isn’t it sad to think these people take the time to do this according to their faith, and yet many in the Christian religion will not even take a moment to pray and thank God for their health, food, loved ones, etc. I have tried to adopt the Bible verse, “Be still and know that I am God” to remind me to do this often.

Thanks for sharing Sheila. Like the new header on your page too!

The shot is great too! I love you it takes on the look of a black and white photo with an enhancement of a pop of color. Almost as if you doctored the photo in Photoshop or some other graphics program. The colors are so bright and beautiful. The green stuff in the middle looks like snakes that are about to walk away to the Gods.

Love the new B/W photos and the blue chair as the header.

Kathleen- Most of Bali is Hindu but the rest of Indonesia is mostly Muslim. And yes it’s nice that they pause all day long to worship and give thanks.

Tatiana- I have a Rebel XTi. When I get a little better I’ll move up a little.

Sara- All I did was brighten the photo and add a little contrast. The ground was already a little dark and with contrast it made it look black and white. :) Thanks for noticing the new look. It wanted to downplay some of the repetitive talk and focus on the photos.

    Nikki- Thanks Nikki girl!
