An Officer and A Gentleman

He took out the dress whites tonight, dusted them off and prepared for his Dining-In.
I watched him go through all the motions, laughing and talking and looking so official all the while.
I smiled as he went to leave. It was all I could do not to run after him and jump in his arms ala Debra Winger in An Officer and A Gentleman.
Gets me everytime.

I passed mine on the street yesterday. We were driving our cars in opposite directions; he was coming home from work, and I was on my way to pick up kids from after-school activities. Another 20 yards down the road, I had to call him on his cell phone, just to tell him how handsome he looked!
Isn’t it wonderful to be in love with the father of your children?

I recognized the car from far away and just as he got closer he lifted his hand up off the steering wheel in a “Hey” kinda way. I waved back. It was like we were dating again. And I was watching him from afar, still getting to know him. It was cool.
