I love those. They remind me of the tamales (corn dough, chicken, and vegetables wrapped in plantain leaves) we have for Christmas.

So by the looks of the last picture the rice is cooked inside the little packets? I’m totally intrigued. It is also portion control, too lol

    Have a fabulous day!

Hi Dr. Cason - It’s amazing what we can do when we’re left with working with what we have on hand. That’s art in the making.

I love ketupat, the rice cakes that you featured. Dipped in satay sauce topped with an abundance of nuts, they taste delicious! They are easily available from where I come from. We don’t do them at home but we usually eat them outside. I’m glad that you are enjoying your classes. Keep the pictures coming. I just love coming to your site for a visual feast!

    Marelisa- That sounds Yummy!

    Elizabeth- Seriously!

Kristen- Yep they pour the uncooked rice into the little packets and then when they cook it, it puffs up and gets all cute and tight!

Barbara- They epitomized a lot of this. It was amazing.

Evelyn-Ketupat! Is that what they are called? Yummy!
