What an adorable picture, and thanks for sharing those stories!

For weeks I had a front tooth dangling by a thread and I wouldn't let anyone touch it. I went over to my best friends house and her very charming dad charmed me in to letting him put some floss around it and then proceeded to SLAM it in the door. I think the door slamming scared me so bad that I just cried and cried. That night the tooth fairy left me FIVE DOLLARS! I only got a quarter at my own house (oh the guilt...lol).

My life is not normal - just a preface lol

My grandmother didn't have any permanent eye teeth. When her baby eye teeth came out, there was nothing there to replace them, ever. I always thought that was cool. She could put a pencil in her mouth sideways and close her mouth! It was facinating for a small child lol

Fast forward - I'm 16. My wisdom teeth are coming in, becoming a real problem and they have to go. all 4 at the same time. X-rays are done and two small teeth are seen in the x-ray, one on each side of my mouth in the cheeks (but very close to the wisdom teeth) The Dentist decides to take those out as well, as they are clearly not needed. I always say I had 6 wisdom teeth pulled, but actually those two wayward teeth were little eye teeth.

By the way - Yep, I'm built just like that grandma, look like her and everything. I even got her teeth lol

My youngest son, Nicholas, had to have two teeth removed in his younger years because they were crowding his mouth. I guess these were extras that came in for some reason. Anyway, I have the cutest little green treasure chest with those two teeth in it the dentist gave me. It is in my momento box with all sorts of other things such as the cards they gave me, notes they left for me, skating awards, baseball awards, band awards, programs from music performances, honor society induction things (even the burned candles), etc.

It has always been fun to go through these with my boys, but when they got married it was even more fun. We all sat in the living room going through these things, and the girls would get so tickled seeing all of this. Of course, the boys would turn a bright shade of red every now and then. But the treasure chest with the two teeth is always the biggest hit!

Someday when I am gone they will show these things to their children, and my grandchildren will know exactly how much both of their daddys were loved by Grandma Kat.

Ooh, I have a couple but only one is mine, the other is my sister's.

When I turned 18 my mum presented me with a little jewellery bag. I wondered what it could be. A necklace, a ring, a brooch? She had kept all of them and presented my lost teeth to me in the fashion of a tooth bracelet! LOL. I was grossed out and my mother thought it hilarious.

Unfortunately, my mother was unable to do this for my sister because when she was about ten, she discovered my Mum's collection. Being the smart little cookie she was, back then, she took them and planted them in the garden. She figured that if the tooth fairy gave out 50 cents for a tooth, if she planted them and a tooth tree grew, she would be a very rich little lady in no time at all!!

I don't have a special tooth story. All I have to say is that I have not been as lucky as my kids now. I never used to have the tooth fairy visiting me. But my kids get such visits everytime they lose a tooth. They absolutely look forward to receiving a little gift (not money though) in exchange for the tooth!

My brother and I had all sorts of 'tricks' we'd try to pull our teeth out when they got loose.
Generally though a warm face cloth wrapped around the tooth and wriggled would do the trick!

I did however used to save mine up - so that if I needed money I'd put them all out for the tooth fairy at once! he he!
I'm still a saver rather than a spender....but I can't pay in 'teeth' for anything anymore, just not an accepted currency :-)

I don't remember any of my own tooth stories, but I have a good one about BubTar! He was so excited the night he lost his first tooth, even after he was tucked into bed I kept hearing squeals of delight coming from his bedroom. I actually have it on video in this post. However, the next day he had serious seller's remorse, he sobbed and sobbed that his tooth was gone...it went on for weeks! He was very sad about it. He's never given another tooth to the Tooth Fairy, the money just wasn't worth the sadness!

Well, Santa Claus pulled some strings this past Christmas and talked the Tooth Fairy into returning that first tooth to him. He was really thrilled by it. It was my favorite part of Christmas! Here is a link to the post containing Santa's accompanying latter.

I swallowed my first tooth. I went to bed with a loose tooth and woke up with it missing. We searched all over my bed looking for it but it was very absent. The tooth fairy sent me a nice letter telling me that she was sorry that my tooth was lost and that I should keep up with the good dental hygiene. I also got more money (a whopping .75 when for all my other teeth I got a measly .25, yeah my parents were cheap) than I got for any of my other teeth and a pack of sugarless gum.
