Off for a Ride

Do you notice that most of a child’s time is spent playing?
We went to the exchange this weekend and had an hour to kill while the car was being worked on.
Smiling boy didn’t hesitate.
He jumped on a bike and off he went. “Hey!” I yelled and ran after him. He didn’t even stop- just went cruising down the aisle around the corner and was…gone…
Such is the life of a carefree boy…

Kathleenon 20 Oct 2008 at 12:37 pm 2Sheila you absolutely amaze me how you always have your camera ready for action. How do you ever manage this? It seems by the time I get my camera out, the moment is gone!
BTW, hope you bought that bike for him. They look RIGHT together!

Evelyn Limon 20 Oct 2008 at 2:14 pm 3Yes, I am envious of how carefree my kids are! I didn’t use to enjoy the same freedom. Raised in a traditional Chinese family, I was always told that girls should sit still.

Nikkion 20 Oct 2008 at 8:42 pm 6Hey Sheila, so I’ve been found out. Damn google. Thus until I sort out my thoughts and feelings on my mother reading my blog it’s by invite only. I sent one to your email. I’ll just go and continue my panic attack now.
Jozet at Halushkion 20 Oct 2008 at 10:18 pm 7I agree! You are a fabulous photographer!
I got a new camera in August, and haven’t even had time to read the instruction manual. Bleh.
And isn’t it amazing how kids are ready to take off and run in another direction, until you’re on the telephone…;-)

Ari Koinumaon 21 Oct 2008 at 3:42 am 9Is it synergy? I’ve been writing about kids and it seems as if I see kid-related posts everywhere I go. That picture you posted looks like my son, even.
The cool thing with kids is that there’s no boundary or separation between playing and learning. My daughter is doing 2-digit addition and subtractions for FUN, and she’s not yet 5! (Daddy can’t conceal his pride.
)
Whoever said that math is not fun, is clearly missing something. Uh, well, I have to include me in that….

Kathleenon 21 Oct 2008 at 7:38 am 12I keep coming back to this picture and post today and having a good laugh. I can just picture you with camera in hand running after Smiling Face boy yelling, “Hey!” No doubt this little boy is feeling a lot better – thank God for that!
