Quietly Working

How many times are we working alone,

and yet are not really alone.

(Crud the more I look at this really cool photo the more I want to reach up and grab all those little tall grasses away!)

Something about the motion and colors in this picture (especially the grass) make me think of a Monet painting, and I love Monet paintings. The first picture I ever purchased when I was getting married was a Monet painting (Lady by the Lake) for our new home. I still have it, and still love it.

Such a beautiful picture, but one must remember the Great Creator is always there with us – especially when surrounded by the beautiful nature He has created.

I didn’t think of it until Kathleen said it, but it is like Monet…I would love to be around so many green things.

Gorgeous. I wouldn’t wish those grassy pieces awy. I think they add to your perspective. A silent watcher.

Sheila – You have indeed opened my eyes and mind to Guam. I have never had a desire to visit this part of our beautiful world until I was honored with your photography. What a valuable lesson I have learned! Your children are so blessed to always have these memories too, and the fact you have also shared this beauty with your father when he visited will be a wonderful memory when he is gone as well.

This may sound very silly, but I often will find a beautiful location when I am driving (sometimes late at night). I pull my car over, enjoy this to its fullest (need to put my camera in that car too), and meditate in my heart. I try to remember God’s Words to me, “Be still and know that I am God.” Such a wonderful feeling and awakening comes to me during these times. That old Southern Baptist song goes through my mind:

“1. I come to the garden alone
while the dew is still on the roses,
and the voice I hear falling on my ear,
    the Son of God discloses.

    Refrain:

And he walks with me, and he talks with me,
    and he tells me I am his own;
and the joy we share as we tary there,
    none other has ever known.

    2. He speaks, and the sound of his voice
is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
and the melody that he gave to me
    within my heart is ringing.

    (Refrain)

    3. I’d stay in the garden with him
though the night around me be falling,
but he bids me go; thru the voice of woe
his voice to me is calling.

    (Refrain)”

My son, who is a very talented trumpet player, has played this beautiful hymn at my precious grandmother’s funeral and my uncle’s military funeral (Army like his son). I was so proud when the other military playing there were in awe of Nick’s talent and professionalism when playing this at his precious uncle’s funeral.

When I looked at your picture I immediately saw my grandmother, the woman who LOVED to garden, sitting in that picture with this hymn in my mind. That you for this wonderful memory. You just gave me my next post for my blog too!
