Sheila - Also check out the last post I put on my blog about one of the folk singers I met and heard at the Center for Southern Folklore. I put a link so you can also hear some of her songs about the South. Very interesting music with wonderful messages in it.

I love to go to this place when I have a chance.

Sheila - I do as well (have an affinity for art). My son, Nick, has a band director's office decorated with all sorts of art relating to trumpets and music I collected for him through the years. My favorite is this wonderful handmade trumpet player guy who looks like a jazz player. I purchased this at the Center for Southern Folklore in Memphis, and this artist never repeats her designs - so he is one of a kind. Next time I am in Texas I will have to take a good picture of him for you to see. I could see this same type of art being done in Bali.

Here is their website for those that might like to see some of the art sold there.

Jaden- There was a newer more colorful looking one. But it wasn't as cool.

Melli- I'll post it for you!

Nikki- Try to get up close and see what your lens will do.

Kathleen- I do have an affinity for the art. It's so lovely.

Tracey- Not as good as those marbles! Everyone go look at the reflective marbles. So pretty!

I like this too. What amazes me is the time and the beautiful wood someone used to create this little instrument. I think you love Guam and Bali because of the love of crafts these people possess. I find it so amazing.

Beautiful! I would have liked to see the whole thing as well as the macro! I have a little cricket musical instrument that I bought for my granddaughter to play with ... perhaps I'll photograph IT for next week!
