Day off today. What to do…what to do…what to do… I think I’m going to enjoy my kids today.

I love this WordPress app on my Android!! I think it should be fantastic with my New Years resolution. 365 days of a photo a day. This year I’m thinking of doing mobile photo!

We started our day with some yummy healthy pancakes. I was feeling Zen at this time. We had opened about half the presents and paused for some coffee and food. And boy was it good.

Following this we opened more presents- and I ran around with a garbage bag? Yes I did. Probably why I was cranky too. But they were cute as well and no bickering had started yet.

Then the sugar crash hit and the bickering started and I wasn’t feeling all warm and fuzzy with my three. Off I went so I stole away for a while, read some and soaked in a tub and felt cute again..a little. But I wasn’t going to be anyone’s maid so I put them to work before  we ate our yummy Vegan Christmas Dinner (Our First)

I had to take a photo of the photo preview on the camera- Mind you I was ready for some wine and relaxation but not going through 400 photos most of which showed the backside of a child in the way of the present opening other child. I bit my tongue and avoiding maneuvering them around because my philosophy has always been record what is going on- don’t pose and definitely don’t rearrange.

90% of the time I honor this.

But I did ask Gabby to go sit with her siblings in front of the TV so I could take a photo of the three together- she was watching it next to us.

And My twin and I did sit and take smiling photos of us. We have very few photos of the two of us together. Inevitably one looked good and that one LOVED it and the other was nearly half cut off or sneering and not surprisingly that one HATED it.  So we kept taking photos. When we agreed on a cute photo, we stopped. It took quite a lot of photos to finally stop. I think fatigue actually did us in…cause I could take them all night long looking at me- Oh dear…is that what I look like?? LOL. And scarily enough there someone always says- yes…. Shoot.

Well now if I had time I’d sit here and process all the photos from day and go on and on about how much I love Christmas and watching the kids have fun. But the kids are going down. I need to tuck them in and say my goodnights.

So I shall say goodnight to you all…

She fell asleep before I had a chance to tuck her in. 

Awww…Look she has last years pillow pet and this years mini pillow pet all tucked in her arms! So sweet. Merry Christmas baby girl.

Ever seen a pediatrician panic a little. It’s not pretty. But I was on mommy mode and it’s hard watching his neck cave in and screaming he can’t breathe. So I panicked a little inside .

But I played it cool to anyone watching. I shushed and soothed and gave Albuterol.  I rocked him in front of the open freezer and then outside looking at the Christmas lights. We snuggled in bed and watched little home videos while he slowly calmed down and fell back asleep.

3 hrs later he wakes up again- pushes the Albuterol away (not that it helps much anyway) and asked to go outside in the 30 degrees so that he could breathe.

So as my colleague likes to say….I said to myself…”And we’re done…”

I’m just so delighted there are ERs open and people kind and willing to spend their Christmas Eve Day not at the malls, but rather administering Racemic Epi and Decadron.

And he got better. And we went home. But I was still shaken and thinking- what the hell was that??

Now I know why people jump on Facebook and tell the world what was wrong. I wanted all to know that he was ill and now better. I wanted the pats and oohs and ahhhs and poor things. I wanted that sympathy and to process through it all.

I love when the laughter is real. I can still hear him.
