A Few of My Favorite Things
Dr. Cason on Aug 15th 2008
It’s been a long past couple of weeks. All three have been kids sick. The clinic has been full of diagnostic dilemmas and school physicals. So I’ve been missing my home.
And I love home.
Being called a homebody isn’t an insult. It’s the truth.
So now my workweek is over and it’s 8:30 at night and all [...]
Taters Anyone?
Dr. Cason on Aug 13th 2008
Who doesn’t love a good tater tot? Throw a bunch in a hot oven, crisp them up and serve with lots of ketchup! My husband loves to pop a few in his mouth and pull out a Sling Blade impersonation, “Taters, mmhmmm….”
And the kids? They are uncharacteristically quiet as they gobble them up.
I try not [...]
Plumeria Raindrops
Dr. Cason on Jul 12th 2008
I was out the door heading off to an early AM Saturday clinic here in Guam when the raindrops caught my eye.
So delicate and untouched.

Chop the Tension Away!
Dr. Cason on Jul 10th 2008
I love to cook. Something about the smell and the feel of the ingredients under my hands. As I chop away the tension also starts to flow. That is unless there are screaming kids under my feet. Then I’m yelling, HOT STOVE! EVERYBODY OUT!
But as they get older they join in with me and we [...]
Flowering Trees are Oh So Pretty
Dr. Cason on Jul 3rd 2008
We are about to celebrate our one year anniversary here on the tiny little island of Guam and it’s really starting to feel like home. It’s funny how it takes about a year to become accustomed to a new place. Once you go through all the seasons and celebrations, you start to create new memories. [...]

Counting Crows- Sullivan Street
Dr. Cason on Jun 21st 2008
I climbed in the car this am. On purpose. I could’ve left it behind (it was promised a carwash) and taken the mustang. But that’s not my car. Mine’s the gas guzzling SUV, the Mommy Mobile. It’s not that it doesn’t need a wash. It needs one badly. There are empty water bottles on the [...]
Questions Flickr Mosaic
Dr. Cason on Jun 10th 2008
This is a meme that is currently floating around. I grabbed and fit it to my likings. I chose to create 3 mosaics and not one because I wanted the photos to really stand out. Above each mosaic I put the questions and my answers. Below each mosaic are the photo credits. These are [...]
Little Bits of Nothing
Dr. Cason on Jun 8th 2008
Guinevere wrote about “nothing” the other day and I was delighted. It was a running stream of consciousness that illustrated what fills our thoughts on a moment to moment basis. It shows how one thought segues into another and another until we can’t remember what that original thought was. This often happens when I [...]
The House
Dr. Cason on May 19th 2008
That house was unlike any place I’d ever been before. A shimmery golden, it was built with clean straight lines and sat comfortably alone amidst the empty foothills. It was surrounded by scrubby brown grass and olive green eucalyptus trees typical of Northern California. A thinly split two lane road ran in front of [...]
