Evidence that summer is drawing to an end.

This sad little bath toy got tossed here I don’t know how many weeks ago.
Each day I passed him by and left him there.
Then the leaves fell and the rain dropped.
And he lay waiting.
Still.

I have schlepped all three kids to my office more in the last few weeks than ever before.
I call this series Asleep on the Job- years from now I’ll smile and wish for these days again.
But for now it seems like a lot of work.

Please get better kiddos…Mommy’s about to have a nervous breakdown.

It’s been a long past couple of weeks. All three have been kids sick. The clinic has been full of diagnostic dilemmas and school physicals. So I’ve been missing my home.
And I love home.

I’m always fascinated with facial expressions and particularly so when they are my own kids! This afternoon we were doing some tie dying and I think he got a little bored waiting for all those little rubber bands to be completed. When I was young I pulled  an old Ansel Adams calendar to pieces and tacked them up all around the wall. The striking images soothed me. Ansel was once quoted as saying it didn’t so much matter what you thought when you saw a photo but what you felt.

This was one of my favorite spots in Cairns Australia. I lingered over the mangoes and smelled the cantaloupe. I could have spent all day meandering amongst the fruit.
